The BOLD numbers are what is left from each day.
a) 1st day: 500mg - 375mg - 250mg - 125mg - 0mg
2nd day: 500mg - 375mg - 250mg - 125mg - 0mg
3rd day: 500mg - 375mg - 250mg - 125mg
4th day: 500mg - 375mg - 250mg
5th day: 500mg - 375mg
6th day: 500mg
* Add all the bold numbers to get the total amount of medication
Total = 1250mg (125 + 250 + 375 + 500)
* You loose 25% each day (125mg) so there would not be any left from day 1 abd 2 because that would be 5 and 6 days. The pills only last 4 days. So therefore you only count day 3, 4, 5, and 6.
b) 1st day: 2 pills (1000mg)
2nd day: 1/2 pill (250) 750mg left from last day (750 + 250 = 1000mg)
3rd day: 1/2 pill (250) 750mg left from last day (750 + 250 = 1000mg)
4th day: 1/2 pill " "
5th day: 1/2 pill " "
Total amount of pills = 6 (bold numbers)
She would take 2 pills the first day and then take a half of a pill each day after that, to maintain a 1000mg of medication.

Very good job
Looks good James
Good job Jaimi. I like that you took the time to write an explanation on yours and the bold parts make it easier to read. Way to go!
