#8 homework

a) We got:
1st day --> 500mg 125
2nd day--> 875mg [500+(500-125)] 218.75
3rd day --> 1156.25 mg [500+(875-218.75)] 289.06
4th day --> 1367.19mg [500+(1156.25-289.06)] 341.8
5th day --> 1525.39mg [500+(1367.19-341.8)] 381.35
6th day --> 1644.04mg [500+(1525.39-381.35)]

*The green represents the amount released from the previous day, and the blue is the amount released from the corresponding day.

b) To achieve a level of at least 1000mg daily using only 6 pills, take 2 pills (500mg each) the first day and then half a pill (250mg each) each morning until all six pills run out. This is the work:

1st day --> 2 pills x 500mg each = 1000mg
2nd day --> [250+(1000-250)] = 1000mg
*in the square brackets the first 250 represents the amount of mg in half a pill, the information in the round brackets represents the amount of mg lost from the first day.
3rd day --> [250+(1000-250)] = 1000mg
4th day --> [250+(1000-250)] = 1000mg
5th day --> [250+(1000-250)] = 1000mg
This only used 4.5 pills, but the level of at least 1000mg was reached.
